OFCCP has begun to conduct Section 503 Focused Reviews of compliance with the disability nondiscrimination and affirmative action provisions of Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and will publish the list of contractors selected for Veteran Focused Reviews on Veterans Day 2019. One important facet of these focused reviews is the contractor's self-assessment of the effectiveness of its outreach. Contractors engage in different types of outreach, from online recruiting, to college employer job fairs, to employee referrals, and assessing the effectiveness of this outreach will be different for different types of outreach. This session, presented by Alissa A Horvitz with Roffman Horvitz, PLC from McLean, VA, is designed to help government contractors appreciate the regulatory basis for the assessment, review what OFCCP is looking for in compliance reviews, identify some of the more common types of outreach, and give contractors some tips for their assessments.
