In finalizing President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the Senate voted 99-1 to remove a proposed moratorium on state regulation of the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Several states already have passed legislation regulating the use of AI, some of which are already in effect, and others that will become effective in the next several months.
Many employers are being overwhelmed with the number of AI tools being marketed to them by both existing and prospective vendors. Federal litigation is starting to show the risks of adopting tools that do not account for proper vetting and validation, something that currently seems to be the norm.
The attorneys at Roffman Horvitz, PLC will discuss strategies for cataloguing the various AI tools that employers are considering adopting and action items to ensure that the tools appropriately measure job-related criteria including the necessary validation to ensure compliance with the oncoming state (and eventual federal) regulation of AI.
